Applications for renewal of Thai Private Pilot's Licence (PPL)

General
- All applicants must be FULL members of NOK Flying Club. For Membership details click here
- Make sure your medicals and type ratings are still valid. info here
- if your licence depends on a foreign 'master' licence make sure the licence, type rating and medicals are current before applying for the renewal
- remember that Thai licences are only valid for 12 months, dependent on licence expiry or medical whichever comes first.
- Please note faxed documents are not acceptable
- If no permanent address in Thailand then please use Nok Aviation address (see below)
- It is the club that has to send all those documents to the DCA, not the pilot. The new licence will be sent to the club.
- The licence renewal for standalone licences is quite fast. But for dependent licences there is an additional security check. This may take more than 4 weeks on top of the normal procedures. Be patient.
Procedures (for both standalone and dependent licences)
1. Make CERTIFIED copies of the following documents:
- Copies of each licence held
- Medical Certificate
- Log book
- Proficiency check
- Thai ID or Passport (foreigners)
- Work Permit (if any)
2. Complete the following form
- Application for Renewal of Personnel licence (Download here or direct from DCA here)
+ ONLY for holders of dependent licences:
- Complete the form for "Personnel licence validity check" (Download here or direct from DCA here)
- Contact the authority that issued the master licence to confirm release details of your original licence. This is a requirement in these countries under the "Data Protection Act". Please note that Thai DCA will not be able to process licence endorsement until this procedure is completed:

3. Send the following to NOK Aviation:
- All certified copies (see point 1.)
- Application for Renewal of Personnel licence (see point 2)
- 3x uncapped ID photographs, 3x1 inches
- DCA Licence fees, 2000.- Bath (for payment see hereafter)
- Nok Aviation Administration fees (1500.- Bath)
- Ask the Club to prepare a cover letter of recommendation for licence renewal
(+ for dependent licences only:)
- Application for Personnel licence validity check (see point 3)
- Confirm in writing that the issuing authority of the 'master' licence has been contacted for licence validity check and paid for.
